The FLIMLabs Concept
Most commercial Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging point-scanning systems are based on technology developed for a wide range of applications. By adopting a bottom-up design philosophy FLIMLabs have been able to devise a modular system that is specifically optimised only for FLIM, and is consequently much more compact, affordable and user friendly.
The modules are especially tailored to perform the required tasks for example a timing box, detector, pulsed laser and various interface accessories to allow seamless upgrade or integration.
Whilst being validated for specific confocal platforms the modular design is also suitable for developing custom applications and is priced to be a great option for OEM if companies wish to add FLIM capabilities to their portfolio.
In combination with a suitable photomultiplier it is also possible to add FLIM to photometry systems, yielding data from a specific region of interest rather than a raster scan image.
